MDA Committees

If you are interested in joining one of our committees, please complete the Committee Application Form found here and return the completed document to the MDA.

Membership and Marketing
Assists director contact past due members, provides updates to membership dues and benefits. Helps recruit new members to organization. Promotions and marketing of organization using social media, print, website. Works closely with Conference Committee. Revises and provides updates to marketing pieces. Meets virtually the third Thursday of every month at 2pm.

Legislative Committee
Direct contact with Lansing and State partners to keep a pulse on any actions/laws that would affect downtowns. Helps with the invitations to legislators for Lansing Day, reach outs. Provides Legislative updates at Workshops and Conference. Meets virtually the third Wednesday at 4:15pm.

Conference Committee
Creates all aspects of annual Workshops  and Conference and Webinars. Including: sessions, speakers, sponsors, location, logistics, promotions. Meets virtually every Tuesday at 2:30pm.

Professional Development Committee
Creation and implementation of the MiPDM certificate program. Reviews annual applications. Works with Conference committee to ensure relevant programming is part of Workshops and Conference. Manages 'In MI Downtown' podcast channel. Meets virtually third Tuesday of every month at 1:30pm.
