The Michigan Downtown Association will announce the winners of the 6th Annual MDA Awards on Thursday, November 3, during our Annual Conference held in Muskegon. NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2022.  
 
There are nine award categories. Nominees for categories 1 through 7 must be MDA members and/or from MDA member communities. There is a complete list of MDA members on our web site.
  1. Best Downtown Economic Development Project Under 1 Million Dollars: 
  2. Best Downtown Economic Development Project Over 1 Million Dollars: 
  3. Best Promotions & Marketing Project/Program: Small Town Under 10,000 Population: 
  4. Best Promotions & Marketing Project/Program: Mid-size and Large Communities Over 10,000 Population:
  5. Best Placemaking Project:  
  6. MDA Volunteer of the Year (a volunteer activity for MDA, not in a community)
  7. Organization of the Year– a downtown management organization, must be a MDA member 
  8. Lifetime Achievement (this person does not have to be an MDA member and can be anyone for any downtown in Michigan)
  9. The People’s Choice Award! Each project submitted from categories 1-5 will be featured on the MDA Facebook page, Michigan Downtowns, through September 26, 2022.  The project with the most ‘likes’ and ‘shares’ combined will receive the People’s Choice Award.
